Waiting...

Hey dad, we're still all curious here about the Jews and the baptism thing...could you answer that for us? So they baptize, but have they always, and do they now? And what is the symbolism? Not for Christ, obviously. Jarem and Sara, and Jeff Walker would like to know. :) Thanks.

  1. Dad finally replies:
ORTHODOX Jews still do ritual immersions (though they don't call them "baptisms"), and they do it for ritual or ceremonial cleansing (just as Muslims and Latter-day Saints do ritual cleansings). They do is as part of religious ceremony ("ordinance"), but you're right - not in remembrance or celebration of the Messiah.

  2. Very interesting dad- thank you! I'll tell those interested. And can one convert to Judaism and get "baptized"?
