9th and 10th -Sara

Whoa, I'm really behind. Saturday I ended up eating the Panda Express! Whoo whoo, but I didn't do the Baskin Robbins. Too much sugar already in the "Chinese" food. ha.

Sunday I ate a bowl of cereal at 2 pm, and a real dinner with the WHOLE family at 6pm! Here's the picture of what we ate:

Monday- Claim Jumper in Portland at noon! Filet Minion, asparagus spears, and grilled veggies. Side of garlic bread, 2 bites of red velvet cupcake for dessert (I shouldn't have eaten it- I just have heard so much about red velvet stuff- it wasn't that good).
Dinner at 8 pm (gosh, when I eat red meat, I'm not hungry for HOURS afterward)- potato soup and half of Jude's uneaten roll.
Snack at midnight- Kashi whole grains cereal.

Saturday

10 am 3 slices of rice cheese, Chinese stir-fried rice and egg. ReLiv supplement. I need to make myself sit down to eat. I ate the cheese while waiting for the rice and egg to heat up. It held me until 2 pm

2pm butternut squash before heading to the BYU museum to see the Carl Bloch exhibit.

6pm 2 fajitas at Applebee's. Brenda had given us a coupon so we took Granny. The fajitas had rice, cheese, sour cream, chicken, shrimp and cooked veggies in them.

7pm a couple of bowls of slightly burned granola. I ate too much of that. Back to my salads tomorrow

Saturday Sara the shrew

Is it bad that I want to water board my own child? Jude smeared POO all over himself, the walls, the new rug (because he already destroyed the old rug with, yep, you guessed it, poo), the bed sheets, bed posts, etc. And the came out of his "nap" wanting to hug me with those poo arms....
Well, I ate Irish oatmeal for breakfast, a peanut butter and honey on wheat bread sandwich with nut chips and Greek yogurt for lunch, and hopefully panda express and baskin Robbins ice-cream for dinner! Probably not....bet I'll get more casserole from last night....sigh.

Hey, I just realized what an international day of food I had...hehe.

1/7 Sara

Yeah, the ipad won't let me post here, just in the label or in comments. Lame....today I ate breakfast at 2 pm- same cereal, bagel with cream cheese, and some weird organic cheetos Jude was carrying around. Then I ate dinner at 6 pm with the whole family- finally! Casserole- green beans, beef, shredded potatoes, cream of mushroom soup. Big green salad- sunflower seeds, cranberries, cottage cheese, almonds sprinkled on top. 2 greasy crescent rolls. Then we cleaned the whole house, and we rewarded ourselves at 10 pm with root beer float popsicles. Thereby ruining my no sugar thingy....after that, I got a little sick from the sugar high, so I ate a handful of nuts, and a "whole foods veggie bar" with kale, cauliflower, etc. Now Gideon will probably cry all night- they say babies hate broccoli and cauliflower. haha. Ah well. I like this listing food thing! It makes me realize how bad I eat, or that I just don't eat every 2-3 hours like I want to. No wonder I've got the flab.

Friday

The weekend is here. Read on:
Morning Tuna mix and a few bites of avo puree. I bought avocadoes today so I will quit eating so much of the puree.

11:30 few bites of avo while fixing big salad. Turkey patty.

4 pm avo puree, Greek yogurt dip - a few tablespoons ful. I bought it for the annual Sorensen, Green get-together at Sorensens' place tonight.
1 carrot, 2 celery

6 pm I was too hungry. I may need to add some brown rice to this diet. Big salad, nuts and coconut. While fixing Dad's dinner I had a few bites of his soup, a few more bites of avo puree and of tuna mix and of soy sour cream.

7 pm at Sorensen's. I couldn't wait for the snacks to be put out. Really too hungry. I ate too much Greek dip and vegetables and crackers. I wasn't going to eat any crackers. Then I didn't want the gingerbread and lemon sauce that Lynda had made but didn't want her to feel bad. So, I ate that and it was very good.

10pm About five or six tablespoons of the Greek dip at home with quite a few more crackers. Darn, I didn't do so well today. Daniel is fasting tomorrow. I may fast with him. But, we have to go to Applebees after I get my hair cut and we visit the BYU museum to see the Karl Bloch and Tissot paintings. How to deal with that? Oh my.

Foodie Journal day 2

Around 8:30 I ate some tuna mixture before heading to the temple. I also had my ReLiv supplement with vinegar.

I had three cough drops during the temple session.

1 pm Big salad as described yesterday with a nice big piece of sauteed Salmon. I omitted mayonnaise for the dressing and used just a little olive oil, a lot of mustard, and some lemon juice. I sprinkled on some dill and caraway seeds.

I got really hungry around 3 pm but didn't want to eat until 4 pm. I realized that the three cough drops, which consitute quite a bit of sugar were causing my glucose levels to spike. If you eat sugar, you don't get an immediate reaction. The glucose will kick in the next time you eat. It makes you quite hungry. I drank some vinegar in water and chewed some gum. Within about 15 minutes I wasn't craving stuff.

4 p.m. 1 low-carb tortilla with avocado puree and tomato. I probably ate a little too much puree; it was soooo good.

7 p.m. Big salad with pureed, sprouted garbanzo beans. I heat the puree until it is like a big thick pancake. Then I break it up in my salad.

10 pm butternut squash with butter spray

What Elizabeth ate today | 1/4/11

Breakfast:

- Three small flaxseed pancakes with butter and honey on top
- Two small cups of milk

Lunch:

- Whole wheat sandwich with mayo, chicken, provolone cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers (ran out of lettuce yesterday or that would have been on there, too.  In fact, sandwiches and spinach shakes are pretty much the only way I get my greens in since I don't really like salad.).
- Apple

Snack:

- Golden Spoon Pineapple frozen yogurt.  A few bites.
- One small chocolate chip & craisin cookie
- One bite of white chocolate bark
- One swig of milk
(Yes, I realize that none of this is really healthy.  Bah humbug!  My baby finally went to sleep.  I'm celebrating!  :D)

**The baby was actually sick.  He puked all over me right as his daddy was arriving home.  :(**

Dinner:

- Chicken and corn tortilla casserole
- Tortilla chips
- The best salsa ever (red kidney beans, red onion, cilantro, avocado, corn, and who knows what else. My best friend made dinner for us)

Dessert:

- Cake Batter Golden Spoon frozen yogurt with Butterfinger topping

9pm Snack:

- Fun size Butterfinger

Okay, clearly we can all see where my break down is. Ha ha.

forgot something

After my 4pm snack I blended up about 8 avocadoes. I probably had a few spoonsful of that. I'll use avocado puree around 4 pm every day for a snack. I think I'll drop the low-carb tortilla and just use the puree as a dip for carrot and celery sticks.

Foodie Journal

8:30 am I quickly ate 2 small pieces of baked fish leftover from Sunday dinner. It had a bit of soda cracker crust with butter and almonds on it - yum. I had to dash to run errands.

1:30 pm It took me all morning to do errands. I came home starving. I made a big salad of lettuce, kale, zucchini, red pepper and cabbage. I sautteed some freeze-dried mushrooms in tomato sauce with Italian seasoning. I threw in about 10 olives. I used mayo, mustard and lemon juice for dressing. I nibbled on a few bites of tuna already mixed up while fixing the salad.

4pm after my nap I had a low carb tortilla with 1/2 avocado and Mediterranean Sea Salt.

I get really hungry around 5-6. I chewed gum and kept busy.

7pm Big salad just like lunch with same dressing and toasted pecans and toasted coconut. ReLiv vitamins. I kept eating a few pecans as I toasted them.

10pm Butternut squash with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray.

I like this one

Here's my scripture of the day for "all ya'll."  :D  I really like this one.

2 Nephi 33:6

"I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell."

Nephi's Common Sense

Today as I read in 1 Nephi, chapter 17, I came across the verse (9) in which Nephi asks the Lord where he can find the ore to make the tools he needs to build their ship.  Don't know why it struck me, but the fact that he didn't just ask for the tools themselves, knowing God's all-powerful nature, really impressed me.  Nephi may have had a special relationship with the Lord, but he wasn't about to ask Him for favors that he knew he could take care of himself.  That's cool.

RIch LDS

So I learned at church that the LDS people, in the last days, will be the richest of the rich, according to several prophets, and I started wondering, what will make us rich? Is it because we are like the Jews, and we're stubborn, we work hard, and we stick together and network? Will we take over the financial sectors, and all be Donald Trumps? And then I realized, nope, we will not be rich in the world's sense of the word, right now, but we will be rich in gardens, food storage, water jugs, propane, self-sufficiency, quilts, sewing, etc....and there will come a time when those things will be valued much more than boats, mansions, and fancy cars. Interesting. They're already saying that because of the economic downturn, people are looking for houses that are sustainable, off the grid, and with land for gardens- instead of the trend before the bust.

hello hello

Anyone ever look at this? It's supposed to be this little cozy family site that motivates us to read the scriptures and share our insights. Hmmm, anyone reading these days? A man had a donkey and a carrot and a stick. His friend said he understood the motivation of the carrot, but why the stick. The man said, "That's to get his attention." What stick can I use to get some attention?

ZION IS FLED

I think that should be our new family motto. I was preparing my temple prep lesson tonight and one of the scriptures I looked up was Moses 7:69. "And Enoch and all his people walked with God, and he dwelt in the midst of Zion; and it came to pass that Zion was not, for God received it up into his own bosom; and from thence went forth the saying, ZION IS FLED."

I suppose that's what we are trying to do every day - flee the world. How neat would it be to achieve that level of righteousness to where we no longer need to be on the earth. That should be our goal - to walk with God each day and be so good that He can dwell in the midst of us. Let me know when you reach that level, and make sure you let me know when you're about to be taken up so I can come with you.
